A program, not a track: why one-size programming stalls

July 28, 2026

The usual functional-fitness program is one track: the same loads, the same clock, the same RX for thousands of athletes, whether it fits you today or not. You look up your own percentages. A missed week changes nothing. A cranky shoulder changes nothing.

It works — until it doesn't. The track can't know that your squat jumped last month, that you can only train three days, or that your Tuesday session has to fit in forty-five minutes.

What 'built for you' actually means

The program is generated from your tested maxes, your current skills, your equipment, the days you train, and how long each session can be. The strength work lands as percentages of your numbers — computed for you, not looked up.

Then it stays current: hit a PR and the percentages re-anchor. Miss a session and the week reshapes. Flag a tweak and the next block deloads instead of pushing through.

The structure was never the problem

The best programs share a proven structure — strength, skill, conditioning, engine, each in its place. What was missing was fitting that structure to the individual athlete instead of the average one.

That's the whole idea: the proven structure of a great program, made individual — with a real coach in the loop.
